Bridport Quakers hold a peace vigil in the town centre

Ask anyone what they know about Quakers and you are likely to receive a response that mentions peace. From our earliest origins we have become known for our atitudes and actions in support of peace. Whilst this may be expressed as an opposition to conflict and in particular acts of aggression between nations, it is much more than that. We seek actively to promote and uphold peace by our actions as well as our words.

On this page you will find links to some useful and interesting resources covering the history of what came to be known as the Peace Testimony as well as its continuing significance today.
